Douglas E. Applequist

Emeritus Professor of Chemistry

Professor Douglas E. Applequist received his B.S. from the University of California (Berkeley) in 1952 and his Ph.D. from California Institute of Technology in 1955, then joined the faculty at Illinois. He was a Sloan Visiting Professor of Chemistry (Harvard) in 1964. Professor Applequist's research interests were in physical-organic chemistry, with emphasis on mechanistic problems in the reactions of small-ring compounds.
